Happy 2010!

As I sit here, trying to recall where 2009 went, I have to admit that I’m,  a little happy to see it go. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't ALL bad... but for the most part it was a fairly generic year for us, and I know like I know, like I know  that 2010 will be much better!  I have resolved to make no resolutions this year. Oh, I had considered plenty: being a nicer, better, cooler and more fashionable person; as well as getting off my jiggly butt and exercising 30 min a day 4 days a week, or even keeping the house neat and clean so Lyndon doesn't have as much to do. But, honestly the more I thought about the, the more certain I was that come May, I'd have no idea what I had even resolved to do!  Think about it: do you remember your New Year's resolution from 2001? Nope, I don't either! What I DO remember is the man of my dreams getting down on one knee and asking me to marry him (FYI I said yes lol), and I remember graduating college and getting my first time job, but I can't remember my resolution.

I'm just going to take this year as it comes, and enjoy every minute because I know it will be another one of those milestone years where (hopefully) we sell our house, buy or build the one of our dreams and devote more time to each other and the business we love. I pray that 2010 is a year we will all look back on and recall how our lives changed for the better! If all goes well, I may forever abolish resolutions, and instead commit to make the most of and live every New Year to the fullest!

To get the warm, positive fuzzy vibes started I have the long-overdo first installment in our PIF (Pay it forward) sessions.

Here's how they're going to work:

Every year we will select one person from each category of our 'giving back' sessions. Your job is to nominate that person (or yourself) in an e-mail explaining why this person deserves a free session. Simple huh? Our first act of PIF will be ~drumroll~ a portrait session for a very deserving High School senior!!! Just shoot me an e-mail telling me why the person you nominate deserves a free session and VIOLA...warm fuzzies all around!

I will announce at least two more PIF sessions through out this month so stay tuned!

May we all be blessed in 2010!

BIG News

Okay, so I have BIG news! Well, it's big to us anyway...lol. We have put into place a new set of client policies, which I think will answer most questions about our sessions! I'm also excited about the new 2010 Investment guide...you can find everything you need for scheduling with us under the 'information' bar, or by clicking here.

Now before any of our long-time clients panic, I can assure you that these are good changes! :^) We're about to venture into our fourth year in business and have been blessed with so many wonderful friends and clients, that I HAD to find a way to streamline things to allow us more time for what we love: taking your pictures!

Here's what I have for ya:

-New specials and contests! I'll have a link posted at the top of our blog, so you'll always have easy access to our latest promotions!

-A new client agreement that details exactly what to expect from your session. I’ve felt like we've really needed this for a while. These are the policies that have been in effect since we began our business, but they will now be enforced for each and every session and are finally all organized neatly  in one place.

Highlights: 1) copyright information and explanation. More details on copyright laws can be found here (and no, I did not catch anyone red-handed printing their pictures at Wal-mart...lol, I just want to make sure we're all on the same page). 2) a 50% deposit must be received before we can schedule your portrait appointment. The remainder is due at the end of your session. With the considerable increase in our client load, I can no longer post proofs or sneak peeks until you account has been paid in full. 3) The client agreement needs to be filled out and returned with your deposit, please initial each page 4) we can no longer reserve wedding dates for any length of time without your 20% deposit

Hopefully, you made it through all of the boring formalities...if you did, you'll be happy to know that PRINT PRICES WENT DOWN!!!! Woohoooooo Also, the investment for family/senior/bridal portraits remained the same, but the print credit DOUBLED to $100! Pretty sweet huh? Wedding packages are now easier to understand (I heard you loud and clear Lyndon....lol) and can be found here.

-I'm developing 3 new ways to PIF (pay it forward, or give back). They will be announced shortly before Christmas and will equal free stuff!

-and you'll have to wait until January for the BIGGEST news of all! It's the best announcement EV-ER!

Aimee Sneek Peek

It's way past my bedtime, but I wanted to get Aimee's love session blogged before I turn in. I'll add narrative tomorrow :^) These guys were a hoot, and it seems like most of my favorite so far are the  fun ones, but I promise there are really good serious ones too!
